Tom Greed enjoys a varied musical career in orchestral playing, chamber music and education work. Born and raised in Leeds and hailing from a musical family, he first took up the violin at the age of 6 with his father, David Greed. He has since studied the violin with Devorina Gamalova, Malcolm Layfield, and with Andrew Sherwood at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. He has been a regular extra player with the Orchestra of Opera North since December 2014 and has performed with a number of professional orchestras including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Viva, Manchester Camerata, and the Heritage Orchestra. Recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios and Air Lyndhurst in London have seen him perform on Hollywood and Independent film soundtracks. A determination to spread the love of classical and chamber music beyond traditional audiences led to him founding and directing Avenue Ensemble in 2021 – a collective of musicians who take their performances into pubs, breweries and other venues which could be considered atypical for this art form. Tom has appeared as a soloist with orchestras across the UK including the Orchestra of the Square Chapel in Halifax, Sinfonia of Leeds and Cleveland Philharmonic with the repertoire of Mozart, Bach and Vaughan-Williams. He has held teaching positions at Yorkshire Young Musicians in Leeds, Tower Hamlets Arts & Music Educations Service, occasional work with In Harmony Opera North, and he is currently a visiting senior lecturer here at Leeds Conservatoire.

Tom plays a violin made by Johannes T Cuypers of the Netherlands, made in 1801.

Annette Saunders studied at the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music as a pianist, accompanist and repetiteur where she won many prizes. She was recently awarded an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.  Since 1996 Annette has worked for Opera North, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, Garsington Opera, Buxton Festival, RCM, RAM, the Britten-Pears School at Aldeburgh, and the Jette Parker Young Artists at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. She was Head of Music at Buxton Festival for seven years and joined the permanent music staff at Opera North in 2016 where she is now Assistant Head of Music. As a chamber musician and accompanist Annette has given numerous concerts across the UK, the USA and Europe including several live broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
