Kee Kiam Soh is sixteen years old and lives in Leicester. He is in year 11 at school and is due to take his GCSE examinations in Summer 2023. He applied and was accepted into the Junior RNCM in 2021 where he is currently studying piano with Manola Hatfield and violin with Mary Hoffman. Kee Kiam was the proud recipient of the ABRSM Junior Scholarship Award and Leverhulme Scholarship for the 2021/22 session. He has enjoyed great success in ABRSM exams in recent times, being awarded the Dip ABRSM with Distinction in 2021, six months after passing his Grade 8 Practical Piano Examination also with Distinction. He is currently an active member of the school Orchestra, Strings Ensembles, and school choir and he was invited to showcase the second Movement of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No 2, Op 18 with Bardy Symphony Orchestra in 2021.

Josephine McEvey is an eighteen-year-old soprano from Manchester. She is in year 13 and attends Loreto College Sixth Form studying A-levels in Music, Geography, and English Literature, in which she is predicted three A*s. She has been at the Junior RNCM since September 2019 studying voice with Jenny Heslop and piano with Ruth Webb. Josie started singing lessons at the age of nine with a local teacher, Samantha Chambers, then went on to study with Sally Johnson in 2018. She participated in the Bowden Festival Competition aged ten and placed joint first in classical voice. She began with the Hallé Childrens Choir in 2015 and has been a member of the Hallé Youth Ensembles for seven years, now singing as a soprano in the Hallé Youth Choir, directed by Stuart Overington.

Rosa Jones is a multi-instrumentalist from Liverpool specialising in clarinet and piano. She started learning piano at the age of six and graduated to the clarinet aged eight where she quickly moved through the grades, achieving Grade 8 distinction at the age of fourteen. Rosa has been in various ensembles, starting off in CPC orchestra in Liverpool, and in 2017 joined the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra where she became the principal clarinet for three years. She has attended JRNCM since 2019, studying clarinet with Anne McNaught and Heather Gordon-Redfearn, and achieved a distinction in her ABRSM clarinet diploma at the end of her second year. At JRNCM she particularly enjoys playing with Big Band where she takes every opportunity to perform improvised solos. She is part of a five-piece jazz ensemble and a post-punk band locally both of which perform regularly, with Rosa playing saxophone, clarinet, keyboard, and vocals.

Louis Green is a seventeen-year-old jazz pianist from Lytham St Annes, who started playing at the age of four under the tuition of Mike Taylor, a pianist in Blackpool. Introduced to it by his father, Louis fell in love with jazz at a young age and has since played nothing else. He began studying with Ian Gray at the Junior RNCM in September 2020, having studied at the Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire prior to that. Louis has performed in many concerts around the country, and has also performed in Garda, Italy. He was awarded the Rose Goulding Scholarship for Outstanding Progress at the Junior RNCM in 2021, and as part of his Saturday schedule at the JRNCM, he very much enjoys playing in the Big Band and in a Jazz Septet. Louis is currently preparing for conservatoire auditions to begin undergraduate study in September 2023.

David Jones is Head of Accompaniment at the RNCM and Deputy Head (Performance) of the Junior RNCM.
