Award-winning trumpeter Alison Balsom takes centre stage in performances of Purcell’s muchloved
Sound the Trumpet – originally written for two voices mimicking trumpets, Torelli’s Trumpet Concerto in D, and Handel’s Let the Bright Seraphim, also featuring soprano Soraya Mafi.

Performing with Alison is the internationally acclaimed early music ensemble, the Academy of Ancient Music. This specialist ensemble takes inspiration directly from the composers, using historic techniques and period instruments which bring this music to life in their vibrant performances.
