Jean-Sélim Abdelmoula - A piece (2018)

Born in Switzerland in 1991, Jean-Sélim studied with Christian Favre at the Lausanne Conservatoire,
and with Ronan O’Hora at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating in 2016 with a
Distinction. During 2014/15 he held the Rebanks Piano Fellowship at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto and in 2018 he won the Lili Boulanger Memorial Fund Prize.

In 2016 Jean-Sélim was invited by Sir András Schiff to give solo recitals at major venues in Europe and the USA as part of his Building Bridges concert series, supporting new talents.

A committed chamber musician, Jean-Sélim has attended IMS Prussia Cove, undertaken a residency in Banff, and in 2016 he won the Premi de Música de Cambra Montserrat Alavedra ensemble award.

Jean-Sélim has performed widely in Europe including at Wigmore Hall, the Palau de la Música (Barcelona), the Sendesaal (Bremen), Lucerne Festival, Lavaux Classics, Rolston Hall (Banff), Trasimeno Festival and Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In 2016 he made his debut at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in New York.
