Thu 21 March
Victoria Hall, Leeds Town Hall
An educational concert aimed at pupils in years 4, 5 and 6 covering content on the National Curriculum’s Music Programme. The organ is described as ‘The King of Instruments’, and the organ in Leeds Town Hall is the King of Kings – the largest three-manual instrument in the whole of Europe.
Presenters Tom Bell and Richard Brasier take the children on an adventure for ears and eyes as the organ is played live and a virtual tour unfolds on giant screens. Using the music of Saint-Saëns’ playful Carnival of the Animals, this engaging educational concert demonstrates the many different sounds an organ can make in a way which will appeal to young ears.
Tickets: £2 (includes classroom resources)
