In 2012, Owen played at an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace in the presence of Prince Charles and in the same year gave the UK premiere of Gabriel Jackson’s Ave Regina Caelorum for electric guitar and choir at Hampton Court Palace. The following year, Owen won a chamber music competition to perform Takemitsu’s Toward the Sea for flute and guitar at the Wigmore Hall in London.
After being awarded a Presidential Scholarship, Owen also studied at San Francisco Conservatory of Music with world renowned guitarists David Tanenbaum and Sergio Assad. He went on to finish his undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Craig Ogden and is currently studying for a master’s degree at the same institution.
